In 2005
TransX - the Austrian transgender association, was celebrating its 10th
anniversary. We thought that this would be just another good reason to go beyond
our own threshold.
Therefore we organised the first European TransGender Networking meeting. It took place in Vienna / Austria in the autumn of 2005 with the aim to discuss our individual experience in the fields of legal and social problems in different European countries and to learn from one another how to cope with them.
The meeting focued on legal issues and political goals in each country represented. For the first time an Europe-wide political consensus on our joint political claims was formulated. Expert lectures as well as social and cultural events were part of the program.
